Viennese cherry pie recipe ingredients:

  • 500-800g cherries
  • 200g flour
  • 180g butter
  • 140g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Vanilla sugar to taste
  • Powdered sugar for decoration
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the cherries with a paper towel.
  2. Beat softened butter with sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, continuously beating.
  3. Add half of the flour, salt, baking powder, and vanilla sugar. Mix everything well.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and top it with the prepared cherries.
  6. Bake the Viennese pie for 30-35 minutes at 180°C.
  7. Once the pie is baked and cooled, sprinkle the top with powdered sugar for decoration.
