Baked Herring in Foil

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 herring
  • 1 onion
  • 1-2 tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil for greasing
  • lemon slices for decoration

Recipe: Wash and dry the herring, rub with salt and pepper. Then sprinkle with lemon juice and leave for 15 minutes. Wash and slice the onion into rings.

Cover a baking sheet with foil, grease with vegetable oil and lay out the onion rings. Then place the fish on top of the onions and wrap the fish in the foil.

Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 30-40 minutes. A few minutes before the fish is fully cooked, slightly open the foil and bake the fish until it is browned and the crust is a golden color.

Before serving, remove the fish from the foil, place it on a dish and decorate with lemon slices. Baked herring in foil is ready.
