Cherry Jam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One kilogram of cherries
  • One kilogram of sugar
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
  • One lemon
  • 300 grams of walnuts

Directions:

  1. Peel the walnuts and chop them into pieces, similar in size to the cherry pits.
  2. Pit the cherries by hand, being careful not to pierce the flesh, and place a walnut piece inside each cherry.
  3. Place the cherries in a cooking pot.
  4. Separately, make the sugar syrup by boiling the sugar and water together while stirring constantly.
  5. Pour the hot syrup over the cherries and let it stand for three hours.
  6. Place the pot with the cherries on low heat and slowly warm the cherries without boiling until they become transparent.
  7. Add the juice of one lemon 10 minutes before the end of cooking and add the vanilla 5 minutes before the end.
  8. Pour the hot jam into prepared jars and seal.
