Ingredients:
- One kilogram of cherries
- One kilogram of sugar
- 1.5 cups of water
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
- One lemon
- 300 grams of walnuts
Directions:
- Peel the walnuts and chop them into pieces, similar in size to the cherry pits.
- Pit the cherries by hand, being careful not to pierce the flesh, and place a walnut piece inside each cherry.
- Place the cherries in a cooking pot.
- Separately, make the sugar syrup by boiling the sugar and water together while stirring constantly.
- Pour the hot syrup over the cherries and let it stand for three hours.
- Place the pot with the cherries on low heat and slowly warm the cherries without boiling until they become transparent.
- Add the juice of one lemon 10 minutes before the end of cooking and add the vanilla 5 minutes before the end.
- Pour the hot jam into prepared jars and seal.
