Donuts on kefir

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • Kefir – 250 ml
  • Flour – 2.5-3 cups
  • Egg – 1 piece
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp
  • Sugar – 5 tbsp
  • Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Powdered sugar – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Instructions:

  1. Beat kefir with egg, salt, and sugar until homogeneous.
  2. Add baking soda, pour in vegetable oil, and gradually add sifted flour, kneading the dough until smooth and slightly sticky.
  3. Divide the prepared dough into two parts. Roll out each part to a thickness of about 10 mm and cut circles from the dough. Use a pastry cutter to make a small circular hole in each circle of dough. Use the remaining dough to make donuts.
  4. Fry the donuts in hot sunflower oil on both sides until golden brown.
  5. Place the donuts on a strainer to drain excess oil, transfer to a plate, and serve, decorating with powdered sugar. Enjoy your tea time!
